It Sounds Too Fantastic To Believe!

Happy Easter 2024! For Christians around the world, this is our day to celebrate the resurrection of our lord and savior Jesus Christ. Yes, we believe that on this day many years ago, Jesus Christ was resurrected from the dead. He had been officially dead for approximately 40 hours. His death and resurrection not only redeemed the Children of God, but also insured that we would also have eternal life!

This sounds fantastic, doesn’t it? As in way the heck too much to believe. But you don’t know the half of it! Real, honest-to-goodness Christians believe that:

God created the universe out of nothing.

God created Adam out of the earth and created Eve from one of his ribs.

Adam’s disobedience against God brought original sin into the world and created the need for a savior, the Second Adam as Jesus is also known as.

Evil so saturated the world, that God destroyed it by flood, only saving Noah’s family in the process.

Like a father trying to protect his family, God zealously watched over Israel in order to protect the two genealogical lines that went from Adam all the way down to the earthly father and mother of Jesus Christ. Satan was trying to do everything he could to destroy the lineage and derail God’s plan.

The holy conception and virgin birth of Jesus Christ.

Jesus earthly ministry and his miracles, including healing the sick and disabled and raising the dead.

His death on the cross and resurrection approximately 40 hours later.

This all sounds like a lot of tall tales or downright whoppers, right? And yes, all religions have their fair share of these, wouldn’t you say?

And this is why the Bible says:

“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast.” (Ephesians 2-8,9 NIV)

And,

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.” (John 3:16,17 NIV)

It takes our faith to believe in what appears to all of us to be the fantastic. This is why the Bible is also called God’s Word. We either believe in God’s promises or we don’t.

Happy Easter 2024 everyone! You are loved!
