Uncle Bill’s Utterly Deadly Pecan Pie!

1 refrigerated pie crust
1 tbsp powdered sugar
4 large eggs
1 1/2 cups firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, melted and cooled to room temperature
1/2 cup sugar
1/cup chopped pecans (pecan pieces)
2 tbsp all-purpose flour
2 tbsp milk
1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups pecan halves

Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Fit pie crust into a 9 or 10 inch cast-iron skillet. Sprinkle pie crust with powdered sugar.

Whisk eggs in a large bowl until foamy, then whisk in brown sugar, then whisk in next 6 ingredients.

Pour mixture into pie crust, and top with pecan halves.

Bake for 30 min. at 325, the reduce heat to 300 and bake for another 30 min.

Turn oven off, and let pie stand in oven with door closed 3 hours. Don’t cheat. The surface is worth the price of admission.
